San Francisco: a city of innovation. Uber, DoorDash, Airbnb — countless tech giants call this city their home, and now, there’s a new technology set to take the city by storm thanks to “man riding recycling can.”

@emboooobooo that’s SF for ya, trash bin n all #sanfrancisco #sanfran #publictransportation #california #norcal #comedyvideo #funny ♬ A Thousand Miles - Vanessa Carlton

In a video with more than 945,000 views, San Francisco’s Coolest Man™ can be seen riding a recycling bin down one of the city’s many hills, ripping a cig as he rolls. Upon reaching his final destination, he pulls his recycling can into the bike parking. Keeping the streets and sidewalks clean!

The TikToker who posted the video helpfully accompanied the video with the song “A Thousand Miles” by Vanessa Carlton — a fitting choice. Other acceptable songs would include Willie Nelson’s “On the Road Again,” Golden Earring’s “Radar Love” and Christopher Cross’ 1980 smash hit “Ride Like the Wind.”

Unbeknownst to many commenters, this man was partaking in a classic San Francisco tradition, as other videos across the internet show.

Still, commenters were enthusiastic about the mystery man’s innovation. “I didn’t even know this was an option,” wrote one user. “Got the speed reduction flap open I see… Safety first,” added another. “He’s a genius, and I wanna be his best friend,” declared a third.

So if you ever run out of gas and need a quick fix, look no further than your local neighborhood recycling bin. Just be sure to park it nicely when you’re done.
